Slide 2: Staff Briefing Background • What is the link between Cadbury and the National Trust? – Cadbury are supporting the National Trust as 250 National Trust houses and gardens hosting Easter Egg trails this year This is the 2nd year in which Cadbury are supporting Easter egg hunts at NT sites Cadbury are providing chocolate Eggheads as prizes to all those participating in Easter Egg trails at the National trust sites The Easter Egg trails have been advertised on 25million packs of Easter eggs There is a dedicated web site www.eastereggtrail.com which details the properties hosting trails, the dates and times There are 250 properties across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales who will be receiving Cadbury support Properties have been split into 3 groups: • – – – – – – Tier 1 “Extra Fun Properties” (50 sites) - Larger properties who will receive support for 2 days over Easter (brand ambassadors, face painters, storytellers, branded play area for children, branded collateral, Easter eggs) Tier 2 (150 sites) – Medium sized properties who receive 2 days worth of support from Cadbury (brand ambassador, face painter, branded collateral, Easter eggs) Tier 3 – Small properties who receive POS materials and eggs only • • In addition to the egg trails Cadbury are donating £225k to support the maintenance of the Trusts' countryside sites, helping to preserve
Slide 3: New for 2009 ‘Design your own Egghead competition’ • Cadbury are running an exclusive competition for all children taking part in an Easter Egg Trail. • The competition involves children designing their own Egghead character. • The winner’s design will be printed, produced and sold in stores for Easter 2010! • Children should post these back to the address on the form • We recommend this is given out to children on completion of the trail when they receive their Egghead reward, although this is only a recommendation and if resource does not allow, any other time is suitable. Slide 4: PR To promote the Easter Egg Trails 2009 and the ‘Design your own Egghead competition’, 4 regional celebrities have been recruited to design their own Egghead. As you will see from the pictures below, they have also been visiting properties in their region to meet the local press and add their support to the activity. Slide 5: Staff Briefing Brand Ambassadors • The task – – – – You have been recruited to be the face of Cadbury at this years Easter Egg trails You will have a Regional Event Manager to report in to on a daily basis You will be responsible for liaising with the property manger at each site during the live activity To become part of the existing National Trust team on site • Your role – – – – – To act as Cadbury host for the day To distribute trail papers to those wanting to take part To explain how the trail works To distribute Cadbury Eggheads to those having completed the trail To be main point if contact for the Face Painter • What do we expect of you? – – To be child friendly, to interact well with parents and children attending the event To understand the relationship between Cadbury and the National Trust and be able to answer any consumer queries regarding this
Slide 6: Staff Briefing • Your arrival / departure – – – – Locate the property contact provided (or ask for Estates Office / Visitor services ) Sign in on arrival Property manager will have your branded t-shirt and rain mac You should familiarise yourself with the site – ask if you can be shown around or if there is time to look around yourself to locate key facilities (toilets / catering / car park / first aid / lost children point / entrance & exits) Your start and finish times are fixed. They allow for 1/2hour preparation time before the trails start and a further ½ after the trails have finished. You will only be paid for these hours, if you are asked to stay longer by the Property Manager you MUST contact your regional manager before to gain an agreement that you will receive overtime pay. – • Your Schedule - At the end of each day please ensure all items are cleared away tidily into storage. If the weather is good and only under the instruction of the property manager, you may be advised to leave some of the equipment out for the following day. You will be given ½ hour at the end of the day once the trails have finished in which to deconstruct any items. - You must NOT start any product breakdown before the end of the scheduled trail time as per your timings provided
Slide 7: Staff Briefing • Uniform – – – You will be provided with a branded t-shirt and rain mac (the property contact will have this) You are advised to bring additional layers but you MUST have a branded item on display at all times Please wear your own comfortable jeans / combat trousers trainers – please ensure that these are smart and clean and not scruffy – remember, you are the face of Cadbury for the day • Face Painter – A Face Painter will be present and will also be wearing Cadbury branded clothing, please introduce yourself to them on the day as you are both ambassadors for Cadbury. Should they have any problems / questions please try to help them or direct their queries to your Regional Event Manager • Key things we need you to look out for – – – – – Are Cadbury branded posters being used? Are Cadbury branded trail papers being used? Is Cadbury branded bunting in place? Is Cadbury branded Gazebo in use? Is Cadbury branded Welcome Banner in place? If none of the above are in place, please ask the property manager if they can direct you to these so that you can position them
Slide 8: Staff Briefing • Eggheads – Please ensure that you distribute as many eggs as possible during the activity - but ensuring only one egg per person. Adults are allowed to have them if you have sufficient eggs Please give to all ages if people have taken part on the trails, bear in mind that there are local hospices who will be visiting trails, do not overlook distribution to any visitors taking part – • Breaks – – You are entitled to a 20 minute break after 4 hours - please speak to the property contact about this on the day You must ask your property contacts permission to take a beak on the day – always inform someone when you have taken a break You must adhere to their policies (where to take breaks) We require you to cover your uniforms on break. Under no circumstance must you be seen smoking or using your mob le phone whilst in branded uniform – – – • How to deal with consumer complaints – – Do not try to resolve difficult situations on your own – seek advice Direct consumers to the Cadbury customer care line if necessary free phone -0800 818181 • Weather – In the event of rain or bad weather the events are likely to continue. The type of consumers visiting these events are likely to be prepared with waterproof jackets and clothing suitable for undertaking the trails. You will be provided with a Cadbury branded

Your Event Manager will look after c. 15 properties in your region, all with brand ambassadors to look after so will work in a roaming capacity Please use your event manager as the main point of contact for any activity related queries / problems when live If for any reason you cannot work on this campaign you must contact Sense staffing if before Thursday 9th April 5:30pm or your Event Manager after this time. Slide 12: Gazebo – 3m x 3m The branded gazebo is intended for use as the main collection point of trail papers and eggs post hunt. Weather dependent eggs can be stored in here. There are 3 sidewalls plus one canopy (branded). The gazebo can be left in place overnight in good weather conditions but it is recommended that it should be taken down and re positioned the following day Basic fixings are provided but it is advisable to use sandbags to weigh this down further in windy conditions This is very simple to set up – see instructions to the side

Slide 16: Face painters • 1 x Face painters per property Face painters will bring their own equipment to the property, this will include a table and chairs. All face paints are water based and hyper allergenic and passed by EU regulations All face painters are CRB checked Face Painter is free (a gift from Cadbury) • • • • What the property manager needs to do? • Provide parking for the face painter • Suitable area to set up • Encourage your volunteers to promote the storytelling. When will they be here? • They will be employed during the hours of your trail, based on the details supplied on the Easter Egg Trail order form.
Slide 17: Face Painters Where will they be sited? • They should be predominantly positioned around the play area however they could be repositioned if required. • We would suggest that if the queues for people entering the property become too long the face painter could be employed to walk down the line face painting children. How long will each child take to get their face painted? • Approx 5 minutes per face to paint, allow 1 minute for the child to get seated and the face painter to ask what she would like to be and gain another 1 minute at the end. • Each face painter can paint approx 12 faces per hour. Breaks • Entitled to a 30min break after a 4 hour shift.

Slide 19: FAQ’s - Collateral What do we do if the supply of eggs runs out during the Easter Weekend? Contact your designated Cadbury Regional Event Manager who has access to properties in your region with egg supplies or to local warehouses with spare stock What do we do if the site has eggs left over after Easter? Please advise the site to use eggs as appropriate, we would love them to use all of the eggs Allocated during the event. These can be given to local charities, hospitals or even to big kids on the live day! Does the property have to use the materials provided by Cadbury? Yes. Cadbury’s involvement as a sponsor of the National Trust Easter Egg Trails 2009 requires them to display materials provided. Careful consideration has been made to ensure these products appeal to the target age range and co-ordinate with the themes of the Trust.
Slide 20: FAQ’s – Health & Safety/Weather What if there are more people wishing to do the trail than the property infrastructure can cater for? Please bear in mind that the additional advertising on Easter Egg Packs and the dedicated Easter Egg Trail Website will drive more traffic to your property this year. You should therefore include contingency plans in regards to your catering and on site facilities in your event planning. What to do in the event of extreme weather conditions? We understand that extreme weather may result in the need to cancel an event. It is essential that we can inform the Cadbury care line if your property will not run trails as advertised. Please could you therefore advise your Cadbury Regional Event Manager who will then relay the information to all relevant parties • Do the eggs contain any traces of nuts? No, they do not contain nuts Can I buy the Eggheads in the shops? Yes, listed in most major supermarkets Is the chocolate suitable for vegetarians? • •
