Slide 1: Let the Air Out! Nitrogen Tire Inflation Saves Money and Improves Treadlife Click to edit Master subtitle style September 21, 2010 9/21/10
Slide 2: Nitrogen • • Space shuttles, aircrafts, military vehicles and racecars all have one thing in common…they have nitrogen in their tires. What’s that mean? It’s simple; their tires are filled with nitrogen instead of air. – Those vehicles need to consistently perform at high levels, so they use nitrogen in their tires because they perform better and stay inflated 9/21/10 longer. –
Slide 3: Nitrogen Inflated Tires Will Save Car Owners Money • • • These benefits are directly tied to the difference between nitrogen and air - nitrogen molecules are larger than air molecules. This doesn’t make nitrogen any riskier than air Nitrogen isn’t flammable or 9/21/10 poisonous either.
Slide 4: Air Leaks • Air leaks out of tires; that’s a fact, it seeps through the rubber walls. However, nitrogen molecules leak out of tires three times slower than air, again because those molecules are bigger than their counterparts. Nitrogen also doesn’t react to changes in the temperature like air does. 9/21/10
Slide 5: The Right Pressure • • This means if you use nitrogen in your tires they will be properly inflated at the right tire pressure for a lot more time than with air. Tires that aren’t properly inflated run at higher temperatures, wear out faster, reduce fuel mileage and in a worst-case-scenario can lead to 9/21/10 tire failure.
Slide 6: The Savings • • The potential savings alone in gas mileage make the nitrogen option worth checking out. Having a properly inflated tire can save car owners, on average, a mile per gallon. Doing some quick math shows just how quickly those savings can add up – at the price of $3.00 per gallon of gas, you’ll save about $0.20 cents per gallon. A car that has gas mileage in the 20 mile per hour range will save around $75 driving 10,000 miles and up to 9/21/10 $150.00 for every 30,000 miles driven.
Slide 7: Inexpensive Option • • The cost to use nitrogen in your tires will vary, but it’s still a relatively inexpensive option for you vehicles especially considering the immediate savings you’ll realize. The average cost is around $3 per tire and some tire retailers will discount that if you are going in for a9/21/10 tire rotation or tire balancing
Slide 8: Where To Find Help • • If you are looking for new tires, at some tire retailers you can always expect that nitrogen will be used when your tires are installed on your vehicle. Car owner’s looking to have their tires inflated with nitrogen don’t have a plethora of options, but three places that are guaranteed to be able to help are tire retailers such as – 9/21/10 Belle Tire, Costco and Dunn Tire.
Slide 9: Belle Tire • • Belle Tire, a Michigan based tire retailer actually invented the word Nitro-Nize® and are the tire experts when it comes to the service. They offer nitrogen free with new tires and top those tires off for free the rest of their 9/21/10 treadlife.
Slide 10: Costco and Dunn Tire • • • Costco is the largest membership national chain in the country (and third largest retailer in the world period) and has started offering nitrogen filled tires as well. A smaller chain in the Northeast, Dunn Tire, offers the services as well The best way to determine if your local retailer offers the service is to call them or 9/21/10 drop in and ask one of their service
Slide 11: Get It Done • • Having your tires filled with nitrogen is a quick and easy way to save money at the pump and ensure your tires last longer. They won’t wear as quickly and as the seasons change and your tire pressure will last longer, so you won’t have to constantly fill them. Plus, with a low up-front cost, there’s absolutely no downside to 9/21/10
