Slide 1: ==== ==== Get This Product with Special Price at : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005JECKOQ?tag=pdf-marketing-20 ==== ==== Ok, in truth there's no such thing as "the" right choice when it comes picking the Kodak Zi8 or the Playsport Zx5. Both are outstanding. But the Zi8 is more than a year and a half old already and the Kodak Zx5 is brand-spanking new. So, balancing features versus price can be tough in this case. The decision this time is especially tough because the Zi8 was so advanced when it first came out. It features a clear, bright 2.5" screen that's surrounded by a flexible, five-way D-pad. A focus slider along the top lets you move from macro to landscape with ease. By comparison, the Playsport Zx5 has a slightly smaller 2" screen, but since the measurement is along the diagonal the overall difference is minor. Each offers an integrated 5 megapixel camera for taking stills. While the Zx5 is a year and a half newer, it would be hard to prove that the quality is significantly better. That's what happens when quality gets so advanced. Even if neither matches that of a full-sized digital SLR, it would be hard to pick a clear winner between the Playsport Zx5 and the Zi8. Both also allow for a number of easy-to-set recording modes. Both let you select from 1080p, 720p (both 30 fps and 60 fps), and other settings. In this case the Zx5 does have a slight edge. Its Full HD video is really up to snuff. The Zi8 is very good, but for night shooting and other scenarios, the Zx5 is simply better. However, unless you view your videos on an HDTV, it would be hard to see a significant difference. If case style matters to you the Zx5 is a bit more stylish. The Zi8 is a bit of a box. It looks a little more businesslike (at least in black). But the Zi8 case does come in aqua and maroon and in the end it's all a matter of taste, anyway. One aspect is not a matter of taste. The Kodak Zx5 is waterproof as well as dustproof and shockproof. If you want to record video in a monsoon or under the surf the Zx5 is a clear winner. For normal outdoor use, the Zi8 is plenty tough enough. But you can't take it diving and shooting in a dust storm would be a bad idea. If a case that would survive floods and whirlwinds isn't a must, price is the only other big factor to tip the scales. Naturally, prices change week by week in consumer electronics, so it's pointless to offer specific figures. That said, the Zi8 currently sells for about half the price of a Zx5. Still, compared to lots of other pocket camcorders of equal features, the Zx5 ain't exactly expensive. So, Playsport Zx5 vs Kodak Zi8. Which one to choose?
Slide 2: Unless you need a pocket camcorder to take underwater, or have to squeeze the last dollar, either the Kodak Zi8 or the Playsport Zx5 would be a great choice. Isn't it great when there's no wrong choice?
