Interview questions and the expected answers about your university are rarely pertaining to the perceived quality or ranking of the university. If your university is in the top ten list then great. If it is not, then do not worry as the reality that you are being actually interviewed means that the ranking is not of primary concern to the interviewers. Interview questions about your university are more relevant the more recent you have graduated. Grades are definitely important but they are not necessarily what you will be quizzed on. Expect interview questions as follows: What was so good about your university? The interviewers are not asking you to compare the university with others. They really want to know what you got out of it and what did you put into your campus life? They will want to know what clubs and societies you were involved in and what role did you play in any of these? Did you implement change in any of these clubs and do you have a legacy there. Job interviewers are looking for future leaders, self starters and motivated people. The more you have done at university, the more you are likely to do at work. How does your program compare to others? The purpose of this question is not for you to dismiss all other courses at the university or at others. The interviewers are more interested in how you approached the curriculum and any work groups that you were involved in in particular. You will be expected to work as a team in the workplace so any examples you can provide from your course work would be if great help. Entry level roles will always have some job interview question about your school or university and what you achieved by attending such institutions. You should arrange interview questions and answers sessions with you friends and colleagues. This could be done in an informal session to begin with. This way you can prepare interview answers for many of the questions you are being asked. However, for the trickier questions, you may need more help formulating your answers.
