The design has been kept very simple but we have a feeling its not so simple on the inside. A nice brushed silver finish creates a modern look with a slight red strip on the right side. The ST1000 is also available in blue and red. Features The Samsung ST1000 is jam packed full to the brim of lovely features to get stuck in to. Firstly, it has 12 MP and Samsung have included GPS and Geo-tagging. This way your images will have the exact location of which they were taken, so gone are the days of writing it on the back! Built-in Bluetooth allows you to connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices and share your images, if your HDTV has Bluetooth too you can view your own slideshow on the big screen. Wi-Fi lets you email your images directly from your camera or upload them to
Slide 2: the web without the need of a computer. A huge 3.5 inch touchscreen LCD display is perfect for viewing your pics with 1,152 pixels it super clear and sharp. It also has Samsung's Haptic sensor technology which creates vibrating and audio feedback with every touch. The Smart Gesture User Interface allows you to tilt the camera to the side and it will automatically start a slideshow and with the accelerometer you can tilt to view your image the correct way. A 720p HD Video recorder is on board too which will record at 30fps to provide great short movies. Performance The Samsung ST1000 is very solid and comfortable to hold. The colours are great and very stylish. We found the touch screen very easy to use with hints and tips as you go through the menu options and it was very responsive to the touch. Images looked bright and clear on the screen and the Smart Gesture feature was fun to play around with. Printed images were really good too with strong, bold colours retaining detail and natural tones. We really liked the recycle bin feature which stores deleted images for you in case you change your mind before its too late. The Advanced Dual Image Stabilisation worked really well too in producing sharp and blur free images and the Frame Guide is brilliant for when the kids want to have a go, set the frame for them then all they have to do is shoot. Overall Opinion The ST1000 is a great little camera with some fantastic, thoughtful features that help to enhance your images and your photographic experience. Everything is kept simple and straight forward so you won't be baffled by jargon or complicated manual settings. A great, fun camera at a fair price.
