Slide 1: Week I
Slide 2: Vocabulary Goggles - protective glasses set in a flexible frame Badge - an award given for an accomplishment or to prove membership in a group Hoist - to lift or raise Assist - to give support or aid Steer - to control the direction of an object Hurdle - to jump over an object while running
Slide 3: Vocabulary Inhospitable - providing no shelter or little food Expedition - journey taken for a specific purpose Fabricate - to make up in order to deceive or lie to others Bon Voyage - a French phrase meaning “Have a good trip”
Slide 4: Vocabulary Cumulonimbus - a type of cloud that is tall, dense and involved in thunderstorms.
Slide 5: Narration Narration - the act of telling a story At the beginning of the movie, there is a section with no words. Write a story that describes Mr. and Mrs. Fredricksen’s life. • The narrative must be written in complete sentences and should describe as many details as possible.
Slide 6: Travel Where does Mr. and Mrs. Fredricksen want to travel? Activity: • If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you want to go? • Why do you want to go there? • What would you like to see? • Who would you like to go with? • When would you plan on going?
