Ontario's chief medical officer of health says four people in the province have mild cases of swine flu, the first cases for the province. The Ontario cases, which all involve people who travelled to Mexico, put the nationwide total at 13. There have been two cases of the swine flu in Alberta and four in Nova Scotia, all of them mild cases that didn't require hospitalization, and British Columbia has three cases. Dr. David Williams, Ontario's acting chief medical officer of health, says all four cases in that province are considered mild and the individuals are recovering at their Toronto area homes. Williams says testing has confirmed that the virus is the same as the one in Mexico and the United States. Alberta's chief medical officer has confirmed two mild cases of swine flu - one in Calgary and the other in the northern part of the province. Dr. Andre Corriveau says both individuals are male and contracted the influenza virus during recent travel to Mexico. Neither man was hospitalized. Corriveau says the Alberta cases are similar to ones in Nova Scotia, British Columbia and across the United States in that they are not severe.
