Slide 16: A Global Youth Leader Posts on Facebook:
“The Youth Assembly is about showing how one person can make a difference by engaging with the challenges of the present and being an educated and active citizen.
“Last year, I came to the Youth Assembly at the United Nations with no agenda. It was humbling to be around young individuals, all equally inspirational, devoted, and accomplished, each wanting to make a big difference in the world. Amongst me were accomplished young individuals – and the one thing that I share with them is a passion to change the world. It is due to the Youth Assembly at the UN that I will be enabled to pursue that passion even further.
“The International Youth Council would not be possible had it not been for your vision. I only wish nothing but success for The Youth Assembly and your work at the United Nations.”
–– Esperanza Garcia, YA Workshop Leader and Youth Leader Participant: 2008 and 2009 (Director of Climate Change, International Youth Council, Philippines, 2010)
