Slide 1: ==== ==== A clever way to make an easy $1000 + with Amazon from the #1 Best Seller Kindle Author. Click or cut and paste the below link to your web browser for more information www.tinyurl.com/bestinfo14d ==== ==== What I'm going to talk to you about today is could be one of the moneymaking opps of the decade. With the BIG ADVANTAGE that it's so EASY TO GET STARTED IN. Like iPhone apps, this opportunity is also fairly new, which gives you the chance to get in on the ground floor of something that could be big. I strongly recommend you give this some serious thought. Even if it might be a while before you can take full advantage of it. As I've said before, I'm a firm believer in the digital media age. Within a few years, I reckon reading books, magazines and newspapers in digital format rather than on paper will become the norm. Lots of new technology is coming along to help us do this. One of these is the Amazon Kindle. You might have heard about it... Basically, Kindle is an eBook reader designed to make reading eBooks as convenient as reading paper books. Kindle is fairly new in SA so far. But apparently they've sold way over 2.5 million Kindles in the USA. And what succeeds there inevitably succeeds here sooner or later. Now, the really exciting thing about Kindle is this: Amazon is happy for anybody to create their own eBooks for reading on the Kindle. Not only that, but they'll sell them in their Kindle store for you and pay you a commission on every copy sold! In other words, with a little bit of know-how and very little capital you can become a Kindle eBook self publisher, publishing and selling eBooks through the massive online marketplace that is Amazon. (They have around 50 million customers a MONTH... Give or take a few million!) Actually it's even better than that: Because there's also now an iPhone app called Kindle for iPhone. This allows the millions - and growing - iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users around the world to buy and read your Kindle eBooks too. And here's the really, really exciting thing about Kindle eBook publishing: It's so easy. You can do it yourself. Absolutely no technical expertise is needed. So how do you get started as a Kindle eBook publisher?
Slide 2: First of all, start with a good idea. This shouldn't be too difficult. People will want to read the same books in electronic format that they want to read in paper format. Just bear in mind reading a book on an eBook reader or iPhone isn't quite as easy as on paper. So that favours shorter formats rather than longer ones (actually making it easier for you). Kindle and iPhone are also used worldwide and the USA is by far the biggest market for them at the moment. So don't make your book idea too SA-specific, at least until they become more widespread in SA. Have a look at the best-sellers lists to get some ideas of what books are selling well right now. You could publish a novel. Or short stories. Or how about children's bedtime stories... Ideal for busy parents? You could do a "how to" book. Or how about a travel guide? Or a cookery book? Or a health or fitness book? These subjects frequently top the bestsellers lists. Now you need to get some material for your Kindle eBook There are a few possibilities here: You could write something yourself. Or hire a writer to write it for you. Either pay them a flat fee or offer them a royalty on sales, just like conventional publishers do. Or approach the publishers of an existing "old fashioned" paper book. Do a deal with them for the rights to publish it as a Kindle eBook. Does that sound a bit too much like hard work? Well, this is a really good idea that I've mentioned before as an easy way into publishing: Look for public domain material that you can simply re-use for free. Most books and other written material are no longer copyright from a certain period (normally 70 years after the author's death). Project Gutenberg is a great library of copyright free material to get you started. There are thousands of books on there that you can lift, repackage and republish as an eBook for free! The next stage is to turn your material into a Kindle eBook This is another really clever thing about Kindle self-publishing. You don't need any computer programming or any technical expertise to do it. And you don't actually need to own a Kindle either! Simply go to "Self Publish With Us" on Amazon and click on "Kindle Books". This will take you to Amazon's Digital Text Platform that is the system you use to prepare and upload your eBook for Kindle.
Slide 3: Step 1: If you don't already have an account, click the "Sign-Up" button. Note that the agreement you sign off on gives Amazon the right to promote your product by "making chapters or portions of your titles available to prospective customers without charge". This means interested buyers can get a free sample of your work. Step 2: Click "Add a new title" and begin publishing your content.. Step 3: Add details about your book. Add the name of the book, a keyword-rich description and a book cover graphic and, if this is one in a series, the series volume number. To upload your eBook, click the "Browse" button in step five and find your book's file on your computer. Once the file is selected, click the "Upload" button. Step 4: Set a price, then click "Save". Kindle book prices range anywhere from $0.99 up to $200 (R7-R1400) or more. The price you set is determined by you. Step 5: Click the "Save and Publish" button to make your book live. That's it! Once your book is finished and uploaded it automatically goes on sale in Amazon's Kindle Store... Alongside 450,000 (and growing) books that are already available there. This means that anybody who owns a Kindle (or an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad) ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD can see details of your book. Then buy, download it to their device and read it in minutes! For every copy of your book sold, Amazon pay you a commission. This is currently 30% of the cover price. Now I agree this does seem quite low. But think of it this way: If you source material from the public domain you could find a book to publish for free. Once your book is uploaded the whole process is automated - Amazon does everything for you. So your start up and running costs will be negligible. That 30% is almost all profit. Best of all, Amazon makes your book available to millions of potential buyers worldwide. So if, say, your book sells for $10 (R70) you would earn R30 for each sale. Even if your book only sells a few thousand you would still turn a nice little profit. (And of course in time you could publish hundreds or even thousands of Kindle books). Like I said at the start, the whole digital media business is fairly new. I've no doubt it's going to be big, very big. But no one knows for sure exactly how it is going to pan out as yet. (Then again, when paper publishing replaced clay tablets there were probably lots of people who said it would never catch on!) The great thing about Kindle self-publishing is that you can give it a try - and perhaps get a toehold in a future multi-billion rand industry - with very little cost or risk.
