Slide 1: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – JD-057 Reporting to: Financial Director Objective/Scope To provide day to day support to the Financial Director in supplying accurate and timely financial and management information for monthly consolidation to the Triton Group, for internal management, for external professional advisers and for government bodies. Fundamental to the role is ensuring the integrity at all times of the general ledger and the balance sheet of the company. Main Responsibilities: Financial & Management Reporting • • • • • Monthly close of the general ledger, processing of standard monthly journal entries, review and rationalisation of trial balance, reconciliation of key control accounts preclose. Assistance with the compilation of the monthly reporting pack for consolidation to agreed deadlines. Preparation of the weekly cash flow report and cash forecast. Assistance with the preparation of the monthly financial flash report. Collation of ad-hoc management information for the monthly management meeting. General Ledger • • • Preparation and posting of standard monthly journal entries for revenue recognition on milestone contracts, payroll, accruals, prepayments and misc. adjustments. Maintenance of a monthly file of balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity at all times. Analysis of key P&L accounts both for internal management reporting purposes and for statutory disclosure. General • • • • • • Maintenance of the accounting records of TGH (UK) Ltd, Sub-Atlantic’s parent company. This will include retaining cash books for £ and USD transactions, processing monthly journals and maintaining a file of monthly reconciliations. Formally agreeing intercompany balances at month end between both Sub-Atlantic Ltd and TGH (UK) and fellow group companies. Completing government statistical returns as required. Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts. Assistance with preparing audit files for external audits. Maintaining a fixed asset register and depreciation schedule for the company.
Slide 2: Qualifications & Skills Required • • • • • • • 3 - 5 years experience fulfilling similar duties, ideally in an oil service or manufacturing environment. Part qualified or qualified by experience. Capable after initial training of working with the minimum of supervision and confident enough to assess and suggest improvements in controls and processes. Comfortable working and communicating with other departments to resolve queries. Detailed and thorough in approach to ensure the integrity of all Balance Sheet and P&L information at all times. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to quickly adapt to new accounting software. Flexible in attitude to learn and cover other duties in a small accounts department whose service levels must be maintained to both internal and external customers.
