Slide 1: ==== ==== How To Stop Anxiety Attacks Before They Start - Click This Link http://WhatAreAnxietyAttacks.com ==== ==== I'm assuming that you are reading this because you or someone you love has experienced an anxiety attack and know how horrible it feels. In this article, I will discuss how to stop an anxiety attack, so that you can start feeling in control again. I'm going to begin by telling you that it is very important that you don't get into the habit of avoiding people and places that you feel will bring on another attack. If you start doing this, you could very well find yourself, one day, avoiding just about everything and everyone. With that being said, one major way of how to stop an anxiety attack involves simply letting the attack happen. I know you're thinking this sounds crazy, but the more you fight it, the stronger it will become! I'm sure you've heard the saying, "Whatever you resist, will persist." This is so true when it comes to dealing with an anxiety episode. The more you try to fight it, the stronger the fight-flight response becomes. I am sure you are aware that once this response is turned on, the body begins to prepare itself to actually fight or run away. This is why symptoms like hyperventilating, sweating and shaking occur. Additionally, once it is activated, it will simply have to run its course. Remember that an anxiety attack peaks within 20 minutes. This doesn't mean that your episode will necessarily last that long, but rest assured it will not last any longer than that. Understand that the body simply is not designed to be in a state of panic any longer than this. Okay you're thinking, if I give this a shot, what the heck am I suppose to do while I'm experiencing all the uncomfortable physical symptoms that will arise? First off, you're going to have to make sure you are breathing correctly. This is going to be instrumental in learning how to stop an anxiety attack. I say this because most people simply don't breath right. The majority of us have gotten into a bad habit of shallow breathing. In order to make sure you're doing this properly, place one hand on your belly and make certain that you can feel it rise and expand when you take a breath. Next, take a deep breath through your nose and hold for the count of five seconds, and breath out through your mouth for the count of ten. Do this for 3-5 minutes, at first, until you feel comfortable doing this for a longer period of time. In doing this you are putting yourself in a calmer state of being, as well as, helping yourself control the feelings of hyperventilating.
Slide 2: Furthermore, if your body remains in a nervous state, you are unconsciously feeding the fearful thought of having the attack, which only helps it to persist. By shifting your attention on your breath, you are taking your attention away from the fear, and the other symptoms you may be feeling. You are smart enough to know that if you don't pay attention to something or someone, it or they will eventually go away. This is also true with an anxiety attack. Learning how to stop an anxiety attack using the above method takes some time and patience, depending on how often you practice it. You may have heard about a simple, yet effective method called the "One Move" technique, that many sufferers of anxiety attacks are using to end their panic attacks for good, and take back control of their lives. You may find that this is helpful for you as well. By practicing proper breathing techniques, coupled with refocusing your attention away from the symptoms of panic and anxiety, (which keeps your mind in a calmer state), you are on your way to putting your life back in the forefront and placing your attacks in the background, where they belong.
