Slide 2: Popular Fantasy MMORPG Games  The term MMOG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online game. MMO is a genre of games that is extremely very popular right now with millions of players from all over the world playing this type of online game. A game like World of Warcraft is called “MMORPG,” the last three letters mean Role Playing Game.

Slide 5: What exactly are MMO games?  Multiplayer games - MMOGs are multiplayer games. Social interaction, cooperative and competitive gaming are all integral parts of the MMORPG experience. Players like to form groups such as clans or guilds to ally with each other and sometimes to war with enemy clans or guilds.

While other types of games can have two, three or even up to six players all playing together, MMORPG games have at least a few hundreds up to a few thousand players who are logged in and playing the game at any given time. In fact, the bigger MMO games have even more players online at the same time.

In some games there is almost no roleplaying involved. Players just play and don't bother with taking on an imaginary role in the game world. On the other hand, some other games do have a strong RPG elements and players like to make an effort to play "in character" by speaking in acting the way they think that their character in the game would.

Fantasy games - Nowadays, most MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online and Age of Conan, are fantasythemed and filled with mythical and fantasic settings, characters and items like magic, wizards, enchanted swords, spells, curses, flying horses, and so on.
