Slide 2: Christian Dior
In Paris, one of the top designers is Christian Dior. He studied in political science. Christian started to design career just by selling his sketches. He started to make dresses and hats. He also worked with Richard Pisuet. Christian made nice looks for women during the war. He also turned paris into the capital of the fashion world. In the 1950s he made a great change on the way women dress and their sense of style and fashion. All of his clothing made had different themes on the war. The Dior company added furs, sacks, ties, perfumes which were all made in a separate production center. Christian Dior died on October,1957. Then, Saint Laurent became the head designer. Soon after his death, his company was considered one of the best there
Slide 3: Rei Kawakubo
Rei Kawakubo was born in Tokyo in 1942. She studied on fine arts and literature. She didn’t really know that much on pattern making but her ideas were verbally on it. She didn’t really know much about being a fashion designer. Rei had her own company which is “ Comme des Garcons co”, in Tokyo. She did a line for mine and women in 1978. She left Tokyo and went to Paris where she had her own seasonal fashion line. She opened a boutique in Paris. Her line was different from all the rest. She had an ant-fashion austere, not all the time though, and garments. The colors of her clothing line were black, dark grey, and white. Rei’ s designs are displayed in Paris, Japan, as well as world wide. Her designs have been around for over 20 years. She brought a lot of designs wich we still use now. Her clothing line is still around and is still included in fashion shows. Rei has 150 stores in Japan and more world wide. She got awarded “Chevalier del’ Ordre Arts et des lettres” in Paris. She avoided trading with france but she kept on with European
Slide 4: Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen was born in England on 1979. He is one of the youngest of six. His dad was a taxi driver. He also worked with Kogi Tatsuno in Japanese designer. Alexander changed his name from Lee to Alexander because it sounded more like a fashion designer type of name. His work is mainly aimed to build up confidence. He was named British designer of the year in 1996. Alexander opened his first store in London. He also designs his clothes under his own label. His first fashion show was in New York . The designs he makes are more old fashioned but people use them a lot in England. Most of his fashion shows are being showed more in London now.
Slide 5: Donna Karan
One of the other designers name is Donna Karan. She’s from New York. Donna likes fashion so much she went to a school called parsons school of design when she was young. Her parents were also involved in the fashion business. Her father was a tailor and her mother was a model. She was part of the Anne Klevin design team. She left Anne Klevin and made her own company. Her line is DKNY, and she does clothing for women. Donna and her husband Stephon work together. He is in charge of the cosmetics of Donna Karon. Donna’s daughters name is Gaby. She has been a great influence to the DKNY clothing line.

D&G do their fashion shows all through out the world. Their fashion shows are world wide for their customers so they could buy their clothing. Milan and Paris show their trends to customers during the fashion shows. The stage has different series, and their candidates are all around the world. The fashion shows are always collaborating with old and new designs. Milan is the second biggest city in Italy, the financial capital of Italy and the richest city. They are very well known for their fashion sense. There is many places where people can shop and many historical sites of that country to visit. Milan is known for their football stadium, “San Sirs”. Milan is known as the fashion design capital of Italy.
