swooshing to a heartbeat-like sound. Tinnitus is caused by a number of underlying conditions, including
hearing loss, exposure to loud noises, high blood pressure and even wax buildup in the ears. In these
cases, tinnitus is easy to treat by solving the underlying problem. For others, the cause of tinnitus remains
unexplained. It is in this population that tinnitus is difficult to treat. (
