Although Asus is renowned for producing durable top-notch netbooks, they are now also trying to win style conscious consumers over with the Asus Eee 1008HA netbook. To date, it is not only the most stylish Asus netbook in the market, but is also currently one of the most stylish netbooks in the market. The Asus Eee 1008HA netbook is a 10.1-inch model that sports a 'seashell' design. The thickest part of the netbook is in its center as it slowly tapers off in thickness at its sides. This design looks really good as it gives the whole netbook a very slim and sleek look. The Asus Eee 1008HA netbook is not all style and no looks either. It comes with some of the best specs that a netbook can have, similar to those found on the very popular Asus 1005HA. Some of the specs include a Intel Atom N280 processor (1.66Ghz), Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and a 160GB hard drive. Due to its design, some significant compromises are made on its specs. The battery for instance, is non removable (by consumers at least) and seems a little smaller. Due to that, the Asus Eee 1008HA netbook can last up to 6 hours (unlike the 10.5 hour on the Asus 1005HA) that is more than enough for many of us. All the ports are 'hidden' away from view behind flaps to enhance the sleek design. Performance wise, the Asus Eee 1008HA netbook scored very well, better than many popular models in the market, especially in its multitasking speed. Due to the unique design, this netbook model cost around $399 each, which is a little more than usual. I say it is a small premium to pay for such a drop-dead gorgeous design!
