Slide 1: ==== ==== Protecy Your Eyes From Harmfull Effect of Computer http://tinyurl.com/7rg6o6e ==== ==== More often than not, you have experienced eye strain before. This is because strain on our eyes, which is, essentially when your eyes are overworked from staring at something for a long time, is a common problem in our daily lives. It is most common if you are driving a car for a long time, if you are working on a computer all day long or if you are reading for an extended period. However, straining your eyes can occur at any time, to anyone. One of the best ways to avoid the symptoms of eye strain which include dry, itchy, watery eyes, blurred or double vision, headaches, sore neck, and sore and tired eyes, is to know what causes it. Once you know the cause, you can build a treatment and lifestyle plan that is best suited to your situation. Eye Strain Causes 1 - Computer Vision Syndrome Many of us work in an office environment that requires us to stare at a screen or monitor day in and day out. This is one of the main causes of eye strain. Your muscles get sore if they are running for eight hours a day right? So it makes sense that your eyes will get sore from working out just as long. This can also be the case if you are starring at anything for an extended period of time, including the television or the road if you are driving. Furthermore, those who read for a long period of time can also experience problems. You cannot avoid staring at a screen, especially if this is your job; however, you can check with your optometrist for preventative measures such as eye drops or eye glasses. Also, give your eyes a break during the day by taking your eyes off the screen for five minutes every hour or so. This will help reduce the symptoms. Eye Strain Causes 2 - Bright Light Another cause is exposure to a bright light. This can be a problem if you work outside but also if you work indoors in a brightly lit room. Furthermore, a computer screen can emit a very bright light that also can cause eye strain. To avoid this, always wear protective eye wear when working out, avoid staring at the sun and try to find a lighting system that works for you. You may need to lower the brightness on your monitor or position the light behind the screen to prevent glare. Eye Strain Causes 3 - Very Dim Light
Slide 2: Straining to see in very dim light can also strain our eyes. Eye strain from reading in near darkness, or with poor lighting, is a common result of very dim light. Again, check your lighting system and make sure you are using enough light for your eyes. No matter what activity you are doing, give your eyes a rest once and a while to avoid the annoyances of eye strain. Lindsay Pollard is the co-creator of computer eye strain software ScreenRest that provides you relief from the headaches, tired eyes, and blurred vision that are caused by prolonged computer usage.
