Intertech has adapted these nine areas specifically to the tools and technologies used most often in systems development and systems integration. The Nine Performance Areas Scope Management include processes that ensure that the project includes all the work required and that only the work required is performed. The scope management processes include Initiation, Scope Planning, Scope Definition, Scope Verification and Scope Change Control. Time Management includes the processes that ensure timely completion of the project. These processes include Activity Definition, Activity Sequencing, Activity duration Estimating, Schedule Development and Schedule Control. Cost Management includes the processes to ensure that the project is completed within the approved budget. These processes include Resource Planning, Cost Estimating, Cost Budgeting and Cost Control. Quality Management includes the processes required to ensure that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken. These processes include Quality Planning, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control. Human Resource Management includes the processes required to make the most effective use of the people included with the project. These processes include Organizational Planning, Staff Acquisition and Team Development. Communications Management includes the processes to ensure timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage and disposition of information. These processes include Communications planning, Information Distribution, Performance Reporting and Administrative Closure. Risk Management includes the processes concerned with identifying, analyzing and responding to project risk. These processes include Risk Identification, Risk Quantification, Risk Response development and Risk Response Control. Project Procurement Management includes the processes required to acquire goods and services from outside an organization. These processes include Procurement Planning, Solicitation Planning, Solicitation, Source Selection., Contract Administration and Contract closeout. Integration Management includes the processes required to ensure that the various elements of the project are properly coordinated.
