In the MLM industry, there are tons of ways to generate network marketing income, many compensation plans, and tons of newer and better products. Each company touts that you can make more money with them as opposed to others. However, when you get down to the core of it, there are two basic ways that one generates and maintains the network marketing income that everyone wants. A great deal of emphasis is placed on generating network marketing income through the one time sale of goods. For example, many companies and distributors offer a wide variety of goods and services through MLM that generate a one time sale. For each sale, generally, you earn a small price difference vs. what you sold the product at, plus perhaps some commission on the volume of business you are doing. This type of transaction generates a one time source of income for the home business builder. However, there is another type of network marketing income which is definately worth mentioning, and that is residual income. While many are focused on the initial sale, what residual income offers is the prospect of long term money for your business. This is more commonly referred to as having a repeat customer. Here is a great example of this type of network marketing income. When a one time product customer purchases a consumable product, and they keep making that purchase over and over again, that is residual income. Its when a one time sale of a customer keeps bringing in income again and again over time by the repurchasing of that product. New and different products can be sold to that original customer, making the initial sale all the more valuable. This is the preferred type in network marketing income. It does not grow fast, but think of it as like building a house out of bricks. You build it one brick at a time, slowly over time. Its a process of creating repeat customers. It is well known in more conventional business circles that it is always much easier to maintain an existing customer than to bring in a new one. MLM is really no different in this case. As you can see, generating network marketing income really comes down to two basic principles, the one time money made from the initial sale, and the residual income created by a repeat customer.
