Earth Day is a name of a global, commemorative day each year It marks the advent of spring in the Northern hemisphere and autumn in the Southern hemisphere. It is both intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment.

Yes -- there are two Earth Days:
– John McConnell, a peace activist is credited as being the founder of Earth Day. He visualized the idea of a worldwide holiday called Earth Day during a UNESCO Conference on the Environment in the year 1969. This is held on March 20th or 21st each year. – The second Earth Day, held first on April 22nd, 1970, and every year thereafter is more popular -- it is the largest secular holiday in the world.
