Slide 1: ==== ==== More information at: www.chicagosatellite.tv ==== ==== The world of television revolves around high definition these days. DirecTV and Dish Network both offer you an opportunity to enjoy high definition for free. You can opt for the high definition receiver or go big and get the combo, high definition/dvr receiver. If you are a new customer, you might as well get the combo high definition/dvr receiver because it is fantastic. They are both free but if you get the hd/dvr you will be charged a dvr service fee each month, which in my opinion is totally worth it. If you have never experienced dvr, you will absolutely love it. It is the directv and dish network version of TIVO. I've had both directv and dish network, so I feel obligated to share my views and experiences with both services. This is an opinionated review that will be very helpful to you, as I am just an ordinary blue collar guy that can't afford a lot in this world these days. This will help you get more bang for your buck. DISH NETWORK VS. DIRECTV Directv is what I had for the past two years, but have since switched to Dish Network. My reason for switching was not because I was unhappy with the service or anything like that. I switch back and forth every 2 years because when your contract is up, the competitor is always offering something better for free. I try to use my head for something other than a hat rack because I have learned that both directv and dish network don't reward you for being a long time customer but they will give you the world to get to sign up. Directv is more expensive of the two, unless you are just signing up with them, but they do offer a little more service depending on what you like. Directv has more exclusives as far as sports go, such as the NFL andMLB packages, as well as the NCAA March Madness package. I am a huge sports fan and love all of these but my friends always buy this on their directv so I watch it with them. The new thing going right now that Dish Network offers is Turbo HD. This is a great program with 3 different packages: bronze, silver and gold. You can get the high definition experience by selecting one of these packages from Dish Network. Directv offers more hd channels but again, their service is more expensive. Dish Network is the more basic of the two satellite programs but that don't mean it doesn't offer a LOT of what you will enjoy because it does. One thing that I love about Dish Network is the dualroom dvr receiver. I only have one receiver(hd/dvr) and it is in the living room. You can record programs out of multiple rooms through that one receiver. With directv, you can not do that. Directv allows you to record multiple programs at the same time but only in that one room. With dish, you can watch the recorded shows on any of your tv's. The packages are different in that directv offers more channels than dish with each package. For example, the basic package for directv has about 25 or 30 more channels than dish network's basic package. Therefore their price is more, but most of these channels are just to fill up space because I don't know of anybody that watches them. I call them trash channels. It looks good that you have more channels but there is nothing to them. When you first sign up, you can also get
Slide 2: HBO and STARZ free for a few months with both directv and dish. With dish you can get cinemax for 1 penny for a whole year when you sign up for paperless billing. I will provide you a link to both directv and dish network that will take you to the page where you can sign up or learn much more about each one. I just provided the info that I think is the most important in deciding which to buy. DISH NETWORK: Local channels tv - $5.00 DVR service - $5.99 HD service - FREE(if you have and hd receiver) packages starting prices - $9.99 (usually for so many months) Setup and Installation - FREE multi-sports package - $5.99 NFL Sunday Ticket - N/A NCAA March Madness - N/A MLB Extra Innings - N/A ESPN GAMEPLAN - Available and FULLCOURT NBA League Pass - Available DirecTV: Local channels tv - included DVR service - $12.99 HD service - $9.99 packages starting prices - $29.99 (usually a trial period) Setup and Installation - FREE multi-sports package - $12.99 NFL Sunday Ticket - Available NCAA March Madness - Available MLB Extra Innings - Available ESPN GAMEPLAN - Available and FULLCOURT NBA League Pass - Available Both directv and dish network are always offering new things to new customers who sign up for a 2-year contract. I advise anyone to use each service against the other to get the best deals and go back and forth to get the free upgrades every 2 years, unless you just fall in love with one of them. I hope this review has been helpful and good luck. Don't forget to read the fine print on both. Always remember, JESUS LOVES YOU!!
