Slide 2: PUBLIC ART 360 was a two-day symposium at UNC-Chapel Hill that examined the field of public art from the perspectives of the artist, architect, landscape architect, government, private interests, community, and critic. Seven keynote discussions framed issues about • how public art projects are initiated, approved, funded, and implemented • defining objectives in a public design process • implications for public policy Two hundred participants gained knowledge about how artists work in public space and why public art is important to our cities.
