Slide 1: I'm a big fan of working out, and since you're reading this I guess you are too! I also noticed something about a lot of us men. We love working on our arms! We love to show them off when we get the chance. C'mon lets just admit it! I know when I walk in the gym I make sure that I'm going to do the best biceps workout possible to try and get another inch on these arms. If your goal is to build the best arms you can have, then you need to focus on hitting your biceps and triceps hard. Actually, your triceps make up the majority of your upper arm. So it would make sense to make sure you hit your tri's hard in order to add size to your arms. But for the sake of this article, we will stick to talking about the biceps aka 'the guns', aka 'the pythons'! For a lot of people the biceps are a little harder to build up than the triceps. One reason is that the triceps are indirectly involved in many of favorite exercises that most people love, like bench presses, military presses, dips, push ups and more pushing movements. The biceps are involved in the pulling movements that arent as popular with everyone like pull up or chin ups, or heavy rows for the back. When you move lots of heavy weight, you can force a greater stimulus on the targeted muscle as oppose to using isolation movements that call for less weight. Not to say you shouldn't use isolation movements because they should be included to create the best biceps workout you can perform. 4 tips to ensure the best bicep workout are: 1. Use movements that allow you to move heavy weight!! - This cannot be stressed enough. Get up on that chin up bar and do about 8 reps and notice how tight your biceps feel after that. You just pulled up your whole body 8 times! If you weigh over 200lbs like i do then you just made your biceps scream by pulling all that weight. Load up 200 plus lbs on a curl bar and see how many reps you get! Never mind, don't do it! Please don't hurt yourself! 2. Remember to use good form! - This is a good rule to stick by for all of your workouts. Good form is important. Don't be like those guys who swing the bar up down, using nothing but pure momentum to move the weight. If you are doing barbell curls, keep the elbows close to your sides, concentrate on CURLING the weight up with the strength of your biceps. 3. Don't forget to squeeze at the top! - A good flex, or squeeze of the biceps at the top of the movement can make a difference in the productivity of your workout. Instead of just moving the weight up and down as fast as you can, pause at the top of that curl and just give a good contraction of the biceps for a second and then lower it under control. 4. Change up your workout! - When it comes to your biceps workout, change is good. After using the same biceps workout for a while you should change up an exercise or two. Maybe even change your set and rep schemes. Or throw in some supersets. That change will keep the biceps from getting use to the same movements and keep the workout from getting stale.
