Slide 1: Trail the Course of Maharashtra aboard Deccan Odyssey on 4th January Summary Operators of Deccan Odyssey train, Maharashtra Tourism and Development Corporation (MTDC) have announced the departure dates for the month of January. On 4th January, the Deccan Odyssey train will embark on its first journey in 2012 for 168 hours crisscrossing some vibrant destinations in Maharashtra along with a halt at Goa. Body Deccan Odyssey, a luxury train operating on the Konkan route will embark on its first weeklong journey for the month of January on 4th. The luxury train will depart from Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai and travel across various enchanting destinations in Maharashtra along with a halt at beach paradise, Goa in a journey that lasts for 168 hours. During the 8 days and 7 night’s journey, guests will be taken to World Heritage Sites of Ajanta and Ellora, Sun-drenched beaches of Goa and other parts of Konkan region to acquaint them with rich culture and heritage of Maharashtra. A joint venture of Maharashtra Tourism and Development Corporation and the Indian Railways, Deccan Odyssey was launched in 2009 following the resounding success of the famous Palace on Wheels. During the course of its weeklong journey, the luxury train traverses Mumbai, Sindhudurg, Goa, Vasco, Kolhapur, Aurangabad Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves and Nashik.
