These days there are literally tons of exercise work out routines out there! There are so many ways to get into shape, but the important thing to remember is to always at least do something! Often times, people think that the only way to get into shape is to wake up and down eggs like "The Hulk", go to the gym for hours a day, and then run several miles! None of that is necessary anymore. We can be much more effective in a lot less time! Muscle Confusion! The idea here is to make sure that your body never gets used to your routine and plateaus. Whatever kind of exercise you're doing, it is a great idea to switch up your routine every few weeks! That way you'll continue to get the most out of your work outs continuously, instead of just feeling great and seeing results for the first 3 weeks or so. Circuit Training! The concept behind circuit training is to keep your heart rate up while you bounce around from exercise to exercise, instead of just sitting there in between reps. Not only is this really great for you, but it can save you a ton of time because you'll be moving quickly from set to set. Not only that, but if you're moving fairly fast, you're getting some cardiovascular work done at the same time! Doing a circuit is smart! Max Interval Training! This idea is talked about in Insanity, and you've probably even seen this concept on one of their infomercials. That being said, the idea is to get your heart rate high for several minutes, and then only rest for about 30 seconds. This is hard to do, but you'll burn a lot more calories, and see results a lot quicker! Strength / Cardiovascular / Flexibility Training! Most people focus on one or two of these, but not all three categories. If you really want to get into amazing shape, make sure you're weekly routine includes strength, cardiovascular, and flexibility training. Examples would be; Strength - lifting weights, Cardiovascular - running, & Flexibility - yoga. If you want to be in amazing shape, you really need to be focusing on incorporating all three! Warm Up & Cool Down! Far to many people just start working out, and then just stop. It is very important not only for your health, but for your results, that you spend 5 - 10 minutes warming your body up to begin your training, and then cooling your body down when you're done with it. If you want to be able to last, and not get injured, warming up and cooling down properly is essential.
