When I needed an autoresponder service, there was only one real option: Aweber. Why? Because everyone uses Aweber. Is that really the best option? To go along with the crowd? Sometimes it is. When the pros make a constant choice, it's usually a smart choice, and you can help yourself by choosing the same. Most of the marketers I read about had chosen Aweber to handle their email lists, so I did too. And I'm glad I did. Once you find your way around the site's tools and processes, it's easy to set up a list and write an autoresponder series. Take a day to get the hang of it all, and you'll never look back. Once your email list is set up, you can move onto setting up your follow-up messages in the autoresponder. Just press the Messages button at the top of the home page to get to the Followup Message Editor. The messages you put in here will be sent out at timed intervals, one after another, to everyone who signs up to your list. And that's the best kind of website traffic there is: interested enough in what you're selling to sign up to your list, and never more than one email away from what you have to offer. There is another way to send messages, and that's the broadcast. Choose the Broadcast button in the drop down Messages menu and click on + Create Broadcast Message. This will take you to the message editor, where you can create your message and choose who gets it and when. There's another kind of message called the Blog Broadcast (RSS to Email) which lets you send your latest blog posts as an RSS feed to your subscribers. Moving back to the control menu, Web Forms helps you create the sign-up forms for your site. It's a simple, step by step system which builds the web form you choose, with a choice of designs which are all editable in terms of colour, design, and text. Lastly, Settings and Reports lets you track website visitors through your site, and tells you how well your lists are doing in terms of open rates and click throughs. Did I even need to tell you all this? No, because Aweber has full instructions on how to use their site and services online. If you get lost, just click on help or do a search, and you'll find an answer, often in the form of a useful short video demonstration.
Slide 2: Bottom line? With a little investment, you could have an email list of your own... And a responsive list is the vital heart of your online marketing success.
