Staffing services firms have an outside perspective on what companies want. There’s a saying—“others than us better observe our mistakes”. So, sometimes we can’t identify our own shortcomings, because we are lacking an extra “outsider view”.

Today many offshore software companies prefer IT staffing services to achieve competency and qualified human resources to match international standards of working.
Slide 1: Staffing companies—have they started resume writing? Day before yesterday, a colleague and I were perusing through few resumes for WebDesigner positions. Although, I must admit, that the resumes were really bad in the sense that anybody with years of professional work experience would should at least get out a good resume when applying for a job. There are millions of free sample resume present online, all you have to do is just type, “Sample resume Web-designer” in Google, case closed. Apart from the presentation part, it happens that the resume sometimes don’t even make sense. For e.g.: • • • • Resumes won’t mention the name of the company they have worked for Wont’ mention the company names relating to the respective project names Wont have any flow to the resume—“A resume should tell a short yet good story about you” Resumes are clear-cut case of plagiarism. Although accepted, we could just see that the person copy-pasted similar things from his own resume.
Staffing services companies can come in here. Instead just formatting and submitting the resume to the client, staffing companies should address the resume carefully and at least pass it back it back to the client so that candidate knows that there are some serious road-blocks in the resume. The above guy still might have been a very good at the skills for which he intends to sell himself. But, if you are recruiter, here is a very good chance for you to spot weak links in a candidate just by looking at the resume. We are NOT looking at the dress a person is wearing, not even at the shoes he is wearing to judge a person. Chances are that you can figure out the same without looking that person. A resume is a persons chance to advertise himself as a commodity. Still, the best resumes instill life into the resume by adding tinges of carefully planned personal notes. It’s a tough job lets admit it, but we can at least lessen the chances of mistake, if not avoid a mistake. A resume is a gateway; one can’t even travel if the resume doesn’t do the job of opening that gateway. Do u still get it? One would not be surprised if we see more and more staffing companies start helping out people in resume writing and presentation. In fact, it happened with me few days back, I was told by a very good recruiter that my resume gave an idea different from an idea that I wanted to project—Are other staffing companies getting any clues from it?
