For this reason alone people are encouraged to implement a daily routine including foods containing adequate amounts of nutrients as well as a regular fitness regime. Not only do these practices eliminate the individual's risks but it can also greatly decrease medical costs and the need for unnecessary medical procedures such as surgery. By eating healthy and exercising more, people can really make a difference in the medical system in the United States. Why are so many people in the United States ignoring warnings about improper diet and lack of physical fitness? No doubt there are some people who are simply not too concerned about the outcome of ignoring these warnings. Others unfortunately cannot afford to eat properly and join a fitness program. If this is the reason for their unhealthy practices, this is sad. It is true however that processed food and canned foods are much cheaper to buy than fruits, vegetables and lean meats. Also, to buy a membership for a fitness center can also get quite expensive, especially if a family is large. There are alternatives for people who find themselves in this predicament. If they are serious about changing their daily habits to a healthier practice, they do have options. Exercise doesn't have to be done in a fancy fitness center. There are many physical activities individuals can take part in that will cost them absolutely nothing such as walking, jogging, aerobics or even jumping rope. Yes, eating properly may be a challenge if money is an issue. For those who find themselves in this situation, and for those who have a busy lifestyle, there are supplements available containing the recommended nutrients. Although this is not the best route to take, it would be better to receive the necessary nutrition from daily food consumption but, if supplements are the only source of vitamins and minerals, then it's better than eliminating them altogether. The United States is serious about the importance of nutrition and fitness. Through education and access to various health-related associations, the US is attempting to raise awareness of just how important proper nutrition and fitness are in people's lives. It may seem to be a difficult practice to implement into a family setting but if a person is determined to lead a healthier lifestyle, there are options available.
