There are things you can do to help speed the process of building muscle but the rate of your improvement will depend in part on your genetic make up, your level of desire and the way you are training. There are people that we consider hard gainers and then there are those that seem to be able to build muscle very quickly. Your genetic makeup will determine ultimately how big you can get however there are plenty of ways you can still build muscle mass and increase your overall strength. It's important to include good quality protein by eating a high quality diet. Using free weights versus using machines, and making sure that you get the right amount of rest before you workout the same body part again. In order to help reach your goals of building muscle quickly you have to follow the 5 things listed below. 1. NutritionGood quality meals have to be eaten in small amounts. 5 to 6 smaller meals eaten throughout the day would be ideal. A good balance of fat, carbohydrates and protein should be present in each meal. This is important to feel energetic and ready to blast through any barriers you may have while you are at the gym. The protein you take in each day should be roughly equal to one gram per one pound of lean muscle mass. Since your body can only consume about 25 to 35 grams of protein at any one time it is important to limit your protein intake to these amounts. Any more than that will just be wasted. 2. Protein Supplements The most effective way to get the right amount of protein with the correct amino acid combination is to use a high quality protein supplement. If your diet includes fish and chicken don't be fooled into believing that they have all the necessary muscle building amino acids. You must increase the amount of fruits and vegetables that you eat everyday. Vegetables contain amino acids and are in an easily assimilated form. 3. Using free weights To build muscle quickly there's no substitute for using free weights. The size and strength of your muscles is directly related to the stress you put on your muscles. As you increase the amount of weight you use for each exercise you are training your body to respond by making your muscles stronger and bigger to compensate for the added load. You can build your overall musculature by adding free weights to your program because you are using the smaller muscles that help you to balance the weight you are lifting. 4. Weight Training Without Using Weights
